The Rival Bid

Indie rock as if The Smiths had spent a sleepless night with The xx – darkly shimmering, emotionally urgent, melancholic and bittersweet. Always a pop song at heart, with brains, melody and soul. But The Rival Bid aren’t from London or Manchester – they’re from Dortmund. Since 2011, the four friends have been writing and recording music in their own studio, releasing four albums and several singles to date. Their sound is all about big gestures with simple tools: vocals, guitars, keyboards, drums. The latest singles Easy to Love, Handle This and Closer continue the tradition.
