MACKY MESSER

MACKY MESSER was founded in 2011 by Menny Leusmann and launched as a solo project. His songs bear the unmistakable influence of bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Interpol. The Dortmund-based multi-instrumentalist is also known as a music producer and founder of Monkey Moon Recordings Studios.

Shortly after MACKY MESSER was founded, Maximilian Roleff joined the band as a permanent member on drums and the two formed the core of the band. They were accompanied live by musician friends, including David Frings from Fjort. MACKY MESSER produced their second EP “Where do you live” with Blackmail guitarist Kurt Ebelhäuser in Koblenz. They then played support shows with bands such as The Thermals and John Coffee.

After a break, which lasted from the end of 2016 to mid-2023, MACKY MESSER released a re-release of the album “INSOMNIA” in early 2024.
A new album is planned for summer 2024, on which Menny Leusmann is working together with his drummer friend Jens Vetter (formerly Suzan Köcher`s Suprafon).
