Simon Günther, alias Siggi, lives and works in the small town of Beierstedt near Braunschweig and is both a psychiatric nurse and a solo artist. He writes in German and feels at home in indie rap with punk elements.

In May 2023, he made a successful start in the German indie pop scene with his “blum” EP and the single “Alles darfst du lieben”, which he released via Grönland Records in September. Siggi writes his songs between shifts and inspired by everyday working life. Casper and Herbert Grönemeyer introduced him as a “newcomer to watch”.

Playlists such as “Wilde Herzen”, “Fidi&Bumsi” and “GSA Fresh Finds” on Spotify, “Neu in: Pop” or “Apartment 08/16” on Apple Music and “Germany Rising” or “Deutschpop: Tidal HiRes” on Tidal as well as radio interviews and rotations on MDR Sputnik, BR Puls, DLF Kultur, NDR N-Joy, Flux FM strengthened his listener base in the long term.

FluxFm included the song “Hai” in the highest rotation and booked him for the “Flux FM Bergfest” at the beginning of September. Further appearances as support for Ottolien will follow this year, as well as super shows for JEREMIAS at the end of November.

Live, Siggi benefits from a decade of stage experience, because before his solo career he played many shows with his post-punk band Wolkenkratzer and supported Turbostaat and Hi!Spencer on their tours as support act. In 2021, he released his first solo EP “38666” as Siggi the kid and performed solo on stage for the first time. Today, the experience he has gained rewards him with a lightness and inner calm that spreads to the audience and spills over into enthusiasm.
