Beslik

With his new project, “Songs I Wrote Instead of Jumping Out the Window,” beslik—formerly known as Meister—presents his most personal and, at the same time, most extensive work to date. This twelve-song debut album brings together his many years of rhapsodic creativity and distills the complexity of his artistic expression into a cohesive whole. Despite the somber title, the project exudes a peculiar lightness. beslik blends mystical, jazzy soundscapes with profound lyrics, creating an atmosphere that feels both introspective and accessible. The whole is carried by an intuitive naturalness that has shaped his artistic work for years, allowing his music to oscillate organically between melancholy and clarity.
Lyrically, beslik moves confidently between decadence and the abyss, between ignorance and depth. He contrasts dark, hard-hitting moments with slightly philosophical street stories, painting a multi-layered picture of contemporary urban life. His music reflects the emotional turmoil of young city dwellers in the concrete jungle of North Rhine-Westphalia: raw, reflective, and uncompromising.
